Kennel cough. Ever heard about it? It is a common type of cough among the canines so sit back and relax because you can’t catch it. But don’t relax too much because if your dog has symptoms of this cough, then it is time you sough kennel cough treatment. Probably before you set out to look for the right medication, you need to know what kind of a cough we are talking about.

Your dog might be be sneezing or coughing and this cough may be accompanied by a harsh sound like that of a horn. If the disease is in its severe stages, then you might notice some yellowish nasal discharge. One more thing to note is that your canine may have developed an inflammation of the eye membrane, a condition called conjunctivitis and more sadly, the dog could suffer from inflammation of nasal mucous membrane.

As diagnosis continues, the vet may rub some Larynx on the dog and if the dog coughs, it is diagnosed with the disease. If the cough comes with some mucus, an X-ray may be recommended.

In severe cases, kennel cough treatment will require the use of an antibiotic by the name of Azithromycin to prevent it from progressing to pneumonia. All said and done, we can’t afford to ignore the fact that prevention is better than cure so have your dog immunized before it is taken down by this cough.
