In this article I am not going to provide you with an extended list of items you need to buy before you bring your Golden Retriever Puppy home.
I will make a small summary of this at the end.

but I Will tell you about things that are, in my opinion, more important than things like a water bowl, a leash or products to chew on.
The most important thing you need before you take your new Golden Retriever Puppy home!!!!!
The most important thing you need is TIME!!!!
Do not underestimate how much time it cost to bring your new Golden Retriever puppy home for the first time.
Of course you need a lot more then just time, but more about that later.
if you can, take your puppy home on Friday, so you have all weekend to spend time with him or her.
Better is to try to make it a long weekend, with an extra day off.
TIP: Ask the breeder if you can leave him a cloth, like an old towel, to put in with the litter the last days, to get the smell of the mother in there.
this can make the difference between a good night sleep for as well you as your new puppy.
As soon as you come home, give the pup time to check out his new home.
Let him do that by himself, but watch him carefully, because here is where “training you puppy” starts. See my resource box for a use-full link.
Show him where his food and water is and where he has to sleep, if you maybe bought a dog-bed.
remember that the pup is still very young and just left his litter.
If this transformation from the old litter to his “new litter” is done right it can make your pup feel comfortable from the start.
Another really important thing is: commitment
Actually before you think about buying a puppy, you have to realize that its not uncommon for a dog to live for 15 year.
So, be ready for a long term commitment after you made the decision to take a Golden Retriever puppy.
Well, now we are ready for the shopping list.
Leash
Water bowl
Bowl for food. For both bowls choose a good material that fits your family.
dog food. Ask you store for the right food for your puppy
Several toys. Squeaky ones work better, but can get on your nerves also.
Chewing products to prevent that your furniture get used for this purpose.
Of course we can make this list much Long, but these elements are what you need, you can always be expanded with what you need.
