With about 500 dog breeds to choose from plus mixed breeds, how is one to choose? I can not possible mention all of the breeds so do your research there are some Great Dane, English Bull Terrier, Boston Terrier have low indoor activity and are more suited to live in an apartment then a Labrador, Weimaraner, Dalmatian, Old English Sheepdog, Alaskan Malamute, or Corgi which tend to be highly active indoors.
Are you easy going and a real softie? You do not want dominate breeds like Dobermans, St. bernard, Akita, Airedale, Bull Terrier, Basenji, Yorkshire Terrier, Chow Chow, Miniature Pincher, Puli, Schnauzers, Shih Tzu, or Rottweiler to name a few.

Prey drive, dominance, activeness, and other characteristics will vary from pup to pup within any breed and within a litter. Puppy testing can help pick a pup that is more suited to your life style even if it may be a breed that may not be suited to your life style. Also if you do the proper training, socializing, and working with your dog you will have good leadership and have things more under control.
